Résumé
Under the pretext of "saving the planet", the UN, under the influence of radical ecology for more than 30 years, is imposing on Nations the early end of fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas), which are nevertheless essential to our economic prosperity, and an energy transition based on intermittent renewable energies (wind and solar), requiring additional energy in relays to respond to their intermittency. This new energy system has multiple drawbacks (technical fragility, environmental degradation, reduced power, sharp increase in the cost of electricity, etc...). Its effect on the climate remains uncertain. It appears to offer limited interest to countries which, like France, do not really need it, thanks to their nuclear fleet. In Climate Dissidents, Guy Barbey demonstrates, based on information resulting from an in-depth investigation of numerous opponents of the theses promoted by the IPCC, that this organization, as the UN's armed wing for climate and energy, relies on a fabricated and questionable "scientific consensus." According to the Dissidents of Climate, anthropogenic ‌CO₂ plays only a limited role in global warming. Consequently, mainstream climate science and the energy transition imposed by the UN and the European Union should be thoroughly reexamined, incorporating the voices of Climate Dissidents. A powerful essay that highlights the gray areas of a debate often presented as closed and invites us to rethink our energy and economic future in light of a pluralistic analysis.
